No other work has ever given me so much pleasure as the work on this site.

First of all, it is connected with my favorite drink. This is tribute to tea and another possibility to come into contact with its miraculous and light essence. Second, I realize that we are making not simply a good site, but a very good site. It can be called narcissism — but it is very pleasant. Third, my previous work on “tea internet” has brought me new knowledge and new experiences; through this work I have made friends with most interesting people. I anticipate acquaintances and discoveries which are still in store for me. And finally… as Urban said…

“Those who have not had a passion for anything will hardly understand what unspeakable happiness a scored goal, a struck cord, a reached alp, or a flower of such a plant as cactus may bring”… Making a site on tea is also in this list.

Tea is approximately one third of my home. My kitchen is jammed with tea cans and tea utensils. The sitting-room is full of Chinese tea pots, English souvenir tea sets, and Russian samovars. Tea things are hidden in the depth of bookcases. Books on tea occupy half of my writing-table…

In a word, there is no escape from tea. There is no choice but to get pleasure from drinking tea. And this is exactly what I do, translating different materials on tea from English into Russian and vice versa at the same time.

As for the drink itself, for today my favorite tea is Tukdah Darjeeling First Flush. Yesterday it was Nepal Tea. The day before yesterday — Li Shan Oolong. What tea will I like tomorrow? — I have not the foggiest idea yet. It may be Japanese Genmaicha, or some fresh China Green Tea…

For me personally, Tea Tips is an opportunity to realize myself as a web-programmer (so if you notice any programme failures — this is my fault), to get experience of working on a serious site, and to rise in my own estimation in general ;).

Nothing more to say, I suppose, but for the sake of the proper text format I will add some absolutely insignificant words about this and that. Well, bla, bla, bla…

Once more: bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla…

In the 9th grade, when I still was a verdant youth, I accidentally came across the book Tea by V. Pokhlebkin, I read it… and was taken ill with tea once and for all. In the course of time, tea has assumed different forms for me — starting from just a tasty and healthy drink and ending with something sublime, aesthetical, and metaphysical. Years are passing by, but I still believe that tea will give us everything. And it does ;-)))

Tea does not intrude into my life, but naturally supplements it. Along with experience in tea, my gastronomic experience, communication experience, experience in comprehension of the beautiful, philosophic understanding of life and so on and so forth are growing. At some point this experience began to overflow and the time came to share all of this with the world… Thus this site (a piece of a warm tea soul in infinite and cold data space) has appeared.

Like Denis the Man told in one of his articles I had honor proof-reading, the Soviet tea tradition principally ruled it that the best tea is the strongest. That's how it used to be in my home. Then, having grown up a bit, I decided to switch to coffee. I still dig it and think it one of the best drinks ever invented. What does it all have to do with tea?

Well, here's the story in the nutshell: We all got a common friend, who's a big fan of tea, otherwise useless, hence he's not present here on this site. He was the guy who once invited me over and treated me to some Chinese Oolong — I immediately realized I did never have tea before. Now I'm hooked and it's a constituent to my everyday routine, just like singing in band is.

Then Denis the Man and Olga the His Woman thought: Damn, if that guy remains as useless as he is, wasting good tea for his egotistic purposes, then what's the whole point of converting people into our Tea Cult?!

Since I'm a professional interpreter and translator, used to teach Olga — they made me this kind of editor. Originally they wanted to make this splendid Brittish English version but I ruined it! The idea is to make Americans comfortable, whilst they are absorbing facts as to how they don't know shit about tea and tea-drinking!

Just kidding.
